Top Festival Moments: Clean Toilets to Surprise Guests

A recent survey of festival enthusiasts has unveiled the cherished moments that make summer music festivals truly unforgettable, ranging from discovering a pristine toilet and a bar without queues to forming an unexpected three-day friendship with a stranger.

Poll Reveals Festival Favourites

The poll, conducted among 1,500 festival-goers, highlighted their most treasured memories, including a surprise act taking the stage, finally hearing that one song they had been eagerly awaiting all weekend, and the entire crowd singing the same lyrics together. Watching the sunset and waking up to music already playing also ranked among the top moments.

More than two-thirds of respondents said festivals have created some of the most unforgettable experiences of their lives, while 47% agreed that capturing moments on their phone makes the whole occasion feel complete.

Tech and Festival Experiences

The research was commissioned by Samsung UK & Ireland to mark the launch of the Galaxy A57 5G, which features tools like Object Eraser and Edit Suggestion to help festivalgoers capture, edit, and share their favourite moments. The study found that 20% post their festival memories on social media within 24 hours, and 82% said recording content helps them relive the magic long after the event ends.

A quarter of respondents said they would enjoy a festival less if they couldn't watch it back later, often rewatching videos or browsing photos to relive fond memories. However, 25% admitted they wished their phone had a feature to remove photobombers and unwanted background distractions.

Common Tech Frustrations

Not all experiences are positive, as common tech headaches can dampen the mood. A phone running out of charge, accidentally dropping it in mud, and running out of storage were among the biggest festival mood killers. Additionally, 15% said discovering their photos and videos hadn't turned out properly was a major frustration.

Long battery life for all-day capturing and sharing (55%) and a sturdy design (32%) were highlighted as the most valuable phone features for sharing festival highlights.
