Coronation Street Fans Predict Todd Grimshaw and Sean Tully Romance
Corrie Fans Predict Todd and Sean Romance

Coronation Street fans have predicted a romance between Todd Grimshaw and Sean Tully. Todd (now played by Gareth Pierce) has been a fixture on the soap since his debut in 2001, and throughout his time on the show he has been at the centre of several landmark storylines.

Over the past 12 months, Todd found himself at the heart of a harrowing plotline that shone a light on abuse within a same-sex relationship. During that period, Todd's boyfriend Theo (James Cartwright) manipulated and controlled Todd in a calculated attempt to dominate every aspect of his life.

In April, however, the abuser met his end after his campaign of terror against Todd was uncovered, triggering yet another whodunnit on the long-running ITV soap. Those in the frame included Todd, Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson), reports the Daily Star.

Sarah's Fatal Blow

It was ultimately revealed that Sarah (Tina O'Brien) had killed Theo after launching an attack on him with a metal pole atop the scaffolding. Sarah grabbed the pole and struck him across the head, sending him plummeting over the edge and crashing to the ground below.

Todd has since returned to live with George and Christina, but fans are now convinced that a fresh romance is brewing between Todd and a fellow Weatherfield resident. On X, viewers highlighted potential 'clues' suggesting a possible future romance between Todd and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton), having picked up on recent comments made by the pair, including Todd admitting he feels "so alone" and Sean bemoaning his single status.

Clues in the Cobbles

"Looks like it'll just be a microwave meal for one," Sean remarked in one scene, while in another he declared: "We won't always be going home to an empty bed." Responding to their comments, one viewer wrote on X: "They had better not be planning some fling between Todd and Sean. We keep being told they're both very lonely, but they were never a match and Todd is still traumatised. Plus, I won't forgive Sean for ignoring Todd when he heard about Theo's abuse - not a kind word or a visit."

Another chimed in: "I'm worried they might. As they're both 'so lonely', and perhaps get a bit drunk? Sean used to have a thing for Todd back in the day and Todd might be lured in b/c he's known Sean for years and feels safe with him after Theo." A third commented: "You are right, they could be drawn back to each other but I really don't want this to happen. Leave their past relationship in the past please Corrie. I'm not sure which direction they are going to take Sean currently, but hope it's not this."

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
