Liam Gallagher has responded after reports emerged that Oasis are planning a 12-night residency at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium in summer 2027. The Manchester Evening News understands that the band are gearing up for a spectacular homecoming as part of a huge new tour set to be announced within weeks.
Liam Gallagher's Response to Fan Queries
Never one to shy away from tour rumours, Liam engaged with fans on X. When a fan asked directly about the 12-night residency, he replied: "12 I thought it was 10 ffs." Earlier, he had tweeted about England's last 16 fixture against Mexico, saying: "Everytime I've been to Mexico everyone's been lovely I don't get all this bad attitude nonsense it'll be fine."
In typical style, Liam also addressed a fan who said they wouldn't attend a future Oasis concert due to his England allegiances, responding: "You saying that now but soon as we announce the gig nxt wk I mean nxt year I mean happy Christmas you'll be running around like headless chickens trying to get a ticket so stop acting tuff gong."
Background on Oasis Live '25 Tour
Tomorrow marks exactly one year since the Oasis Live '25 comeback tour kicked off in Cardiff. One of the biggest comebacks in music history, the reunion tour spanned 41 shows in 13 countries across five months.
Etihad Stadium Preparations
According to sources who spoke to the MEN, the Etihad Stadium is gearing up to stage the 2027 homecoming. Manchester City's last home game of the 2026/27 season is on May 23 against Aston Villa, with the final Premier League matchday on May 30 when City are away to Sunderland. This leaves a clear window for concerts from late May through June.
A luxury city centre hotel has been entirely booked from the end of May through June for the band and their touring entourage, backing up the suggestion of dates across May and June. Additionally, Manchester's Parklife festival has moved its 2027 dates to July 10-11, traditionally held in June, potentially to avoid a clash with Oasis.
Other Tour Rumours
There are also rumours of a return to Knebworth, while bookies have made it odds-on for Oasis to play Glastonbury in 2027.
Upcoming Documentary Teaser
Amid the tour rumours, Oasis released a teaser ahead of the one-year anniversary of last year's tour. In a post with Disney Studios, they said: "Tomorrow, celebrate one year since the return of Oasis with your first look at the new landmark documentary. The countdown is on." The official documentary teaser will go live tomorrow at 4pm BST, 8am PDT and 11am EDT.
