JADE Adds Brutal Verse to Lily Allen Remix of 'Beg For Me'

Pop star JADE has teamed up with Lily Allen for a new remix of the song 'Beg For Me', taken from Allen's critically acclaimed comeback album West End Girl. The former Little Mix singer adds a biting new verse that takes aim at the unappreciative partner in the track.

New Verse Targets Fragile Ego

In the remix, JADE sings: "His fragile ego ain't worth your tears, If we're being honest, it's/ Better to find out than to find out in a few years/ 'Cause we don't judge, men need their toys/ But no buttplug's gonna fill the void." The lyrics echo a line from Allen's song 'Pussy Palace', also from West End Girl, where she recounts discovering a stash of sex toys and condoms at her ex's West Village apartment.

Collaboration Ahead of Mighty Hoopla

The collaboration arrives ahead of Allen's headline performance at Mighty Hoopla this weekend. The lineup also includes Jessie J, Appleton, JLS, Scissor Sisters, Five, and JADE's former Little Mix bandmate Perrie.

Album Inspired by Personal Turmoil

Upon its release, West End Girl was widely interpreted as being inspired by Allen's marriage to and divorce from Stranger Things star David Harbour. The couple met on the dating app Raya in 2019, married in Las Vegas in September 2020, and separated in early 2025, with Allen filing for divorce later that year. The album received widespread critical acclaim and sparked discussions about marriage, infidelity, and non-monogamy.

In a five-star review, The Independent hailed it as a "brutal, tell-all masterpiece" and Allen's best album in 16 years, describing it as "an incisive diary of a marriage in freefall."
