Perrie Edwards 'Always Down' for Little Mix Reunion

Pop star Perrie Edwards has expressed her enthusiasm for a potential Little Mix reunion, stating she is "always down" to reunite with her former bandmates. The 32-year-old singer, who rose to fame alongside Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock after winning The X Factor in 2011, launched her solo career following the group's indefinite hiatus in 2022. This came two years after Nelson's departure from the chart-topping group, known for hits like Shout Out To My Ex, Wings, and Black Magic.

Edwards on Reunion and Wedding

Speaking to 1883 magazine, Edwards affirmed her affection for the group, saying: "I love the girls, so I'm always down!" She also shared her excitement about reuniting with them at her upcoming wedding to professional footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Edwards reflected on the "daunting" experience of leaving the girl band, describing the transition to a solo artist as a "huge dynamic shift."

Transition to Solo Career

She told the magazine: "When you're in a group, and you've got that comfort blanket of the other girls and a big team around you, everything just kind of falls into place. When you've been doing it for such a long time, like we were, everything was just so easy because we knew what our sound was, what worked, what our fans wanted, what kind of tours we wanted to put on, what set list we wanted. It was like second nature to us."

"When you go solo, it's basically starting from scratch again. So it's quite daunting. But when you leave that group, the possibilities are endless," she continued. "I think you're just kind of overwhelmed by what route you could go down, what direction you want to go down, what your sound is. It's daunting but exciting all at the same time."

New Music and Motherhood

The pop star released her debut solo single in 2024, Forget About Us, co-written with Ed Sheeran, and has since released a string of singles including Tears and You Go Your Way. Edwards, who is set to release new music later this month, also spoke about how "excited" she is about her upcoming record, saying: "I think for me, when I went solo, the most important thing for me was the lyrics. I just love telling a story through my music."

The mother-of-two also reflected on balancing her children and her career, stating: "I love being busy and being on stage and being that pop star girly. But then I also love just being at home, being with my kids and being a mum. Going for little dog walks, and just going on adventures and all that kind of thing. I feel very fulfilled in my life right now, and I'm very happy with the balance."
