Gemma Collins' Stalker Ordeal Intensifies During I'm A Celeb All Stars Filming
Gemma Collins' terrifying stalker situation has dramatically escalated with the reality star receiving "abusive and menacing" correspondence while filming I'm A Celeb All Stars in South Africa. Insiders have revealed to Daily Mail that Collins was sent a parcel containing excrement alongside threatening letters, forcing her to have panic buttons installed throughout her home for protection.
Police Investigation and DNA Evidence Obtained
The 45-year-old television personality's I'm A Celeb scenes are currently airing on ITV, though they were filmed back in September. During this period, police have been actively investigating what sources describe as Collins' "nightmare scenario." Authorities have reportedly obtained the culprit's DNA but have yet to track down the individual responsible for the harassment campaign.
Collins first became aware she had a stalker last year when someone sent her rat poison. She previously described how the ordeal was "playing havoc on her mind" and admitted living in constant fear of those "wishing her dead." The recent escalation has only intensified these anxieties.
Security Measures and Personal Impact
Sources close to the situation explained on Thursday: "It's so scary. She has now been sent these unpleasant parcels in the post along with menacing and abusive letters... The police have been amazing and installed panic buttons in her house which has made her feel better but she is still terrified."
Collins returned to the Australian jungle for I'm A Celeb All Stars after her initial stint in 2014, with her trip occurring amidst this ongoing stalking crisis. During a recent appearance on the Everything I Know About Me podcast, she voiced her fears more explicitly, revealing that the stalker situation had become so severe it prompted her to step away from front-of-house work at her Brentwood boutique.
"No one would believe the bl**dy crap I've had to deal with," Collins stated. "I've had a woman stalker that wrote me a letter in white gloves and wanted to kill me. You know, people would wish me dead. I'd get all sorts turn up at the shop. Weird. People are weird. And that's why in a way I came away from my shop in the end."
Jungle Drama and Previous Celebrity Stalking Cases
While Collins contacted police about some incidents, she admitted only feeling truly secure after significantly increasing her personal security measures. Away from her domestic dramas, Collins has been generating significant attention since entering the I'm A Celeb jungle, with fans enthusiastically welcoming her return.
On Wednesday's episode, she furiously confronted boxer David Haye after arriving in camp. Having missed out on a place in the main camp after losing a bushtucker trial to Craig Charles, Collins vented her anger at Haye when he suggested she shouldn't receive water during the challenge. This disagreement led Collins to brand Haye "evil" to fellow campmates before discussing rumors about his involvement in "throuples" with other women.
This stalking case follows a similar ordeal experienced by fellow I'm A Celeb legend Myleene Klass. Last October, schizophrenic Peter Windsor was found guilty of stalking Klass after sending her Catwoman and police fancy dress costumes while calling her a "naughty vixen" during a nine-month harassment campaign.
Windsor also sent Klass an air pistol while stalking her and a fellow radio presenter over four years before receiving an indefinite hospital order. The 61-year-old requested in disturbing correspondence that Klass "correct him" with a whip and cane, while also sending letters referring to her as a "worthy high priestess" alongside various gifts including jewelry.
The paranoid schizophrenic was additionally convicted of stalking Klass's Classic FM colleague Katie Breathwick, 54, after sending her binoculars, spiked running shoes, and a champagne bottle. Last month, Judge Tom Rochford delivered sentencing remarks at Coventry Crown Court, stating: "What you did caused both women considerable harm, fear and distress. Each message and package you sent was deliberate... You were on an upward or worsening trajectory."
