Grimes Says Elon Musk Blocked Her on X Amid Co-Parenting Dispute
Grimes: Elon Musk blocked me on X over co-parenting

Musician Grimes has publicly claimed that her former partner, tech billionaire Elon Musk, has blocked her on the social media platform X. The singer, whose real name is Claire Boucher, confirmed the situation while responding to a fan's observation about their social media activity.

Social Media Spat Highlights Co-Parenting Tensions

The 37-year-old artist stated that while she no longer follows Musk on X – the platform he purchased and rebranded in 2022 – the block was initiated by him. Grimes emphasised that her sole focus is on co-parenting their three children and she has no interest in public theatrics.

"For context I’m just living my life. He followed me then blocked me," she wrote in a response on Thursday. "I’m not gonna be following and unfollowing. My only priority is co parenting, i am not interested in public dramatics. This is so silly lol."

A Complex Relationship and Family Dynamic

Grimes and Musk, first romantically linked in 2018, share three children. Their first son, X Æ A-Xii, was born in 2020. Despite separating in 2021, they welcomed their second child, daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, in December of that year. A third son, TechnoMechanicus, arrived via surrogate in June 2022.

This latest social media incident is not an isolated point of contention. Grimes has repeatedly used her X account to urge Musk to keep their children out of the public eye, expressing deep concern over their lack of privacy.

Ongoing Pleas for Children's Privacy

In March of this year, Grimes responded to a question about protecting her children from online misinformation, lamenting the lack of legal recourse. "I have tried begging the public and my kids’ dad to keep them offline, and I’ve tried legal recourse," she explained.

She described the situation as being in the "Wild West of information content," adding: "The state of my children's lives being public is of grave concern to me and I think about how to solve this every day."

This concern was notably heightened earlier when Musk was seen with their four-year-old son, referred to as Lil X, during a visit to the Oval Office with former President Donald Trump.

The public exchange underscores the ongoing challenges in their co-parenting relationship, played out on a digital stage owned by one of the parties involved.
