Jessica Biel 'Disappointed' as Justin Timberlake's DWI Arrest Footage Released
Jessica Biel is reportedly "not happy" about the public release of police body camera footage from her husband Justin Timberlake's 2024 DWI arrest in New York. According to sources close to the actress, while she remains supportive of the singer, she is deeply "disappointed" by the renewed attention on the incident.
Footage Shows Timberlake's Difficult Encounter
The recently released footage, which Timberlake had previously attempted to block from public view, shows the 45-year-old singer struggling through sobriety tests during the traffic stop. In the video, Timberlake can be heard calling the tests "really hard" and complaining about being treated like "a criminal." Later, while handcuffed at the police station, he made an awkward joke about his race being listed as "white" on official paperwork.
A source told People magazine that the footage "obviously doesn't portray him in the best light" and explained that Biel is particularly unhappy about the renewed media focus. "There's a reason they pushed back on the footage being released," the insider revealed, adding that the 44-year-old actress finds the situation "stressful" and would prefer to move past it.
Timberlake's Attempt to Block Release
Timberlake had previously argued against the release of the body camera footage, stating he had been in "an acutely vulnerable state during a roadside encounter with law enforcement." However, after reaching a settlement with the Sag Harbor Village Police Department, the footage was ultimately made public on March 20.
In the video, the Grammy-winning entertainer appears confused and nervous during sobriety tests, telling officers "My heart's racing" as he attempted to follow their instructions. When asked if he was visiting the Hamptons, Timberlake responded, "Yeah, I'm on tour - I'm on a world tour. It's hard to explain... I'm Justin Timberlake."
Legal Resolution and Family Focus
The incident occurred on June 18, 2024, when Timberlake was pulled over while driving his 2025 BMW X7 in Sag Harbor. He was arrested and charged with DWI after refusing to take a breathalyzer test. Less than three months later, on September 13, 2024, Timberlake reached a plea deal, accepting a $500 fine to resolve the matter.
Following the plea deal, Timberlake made a public statement condemning drunk driving, saying "Even if you've had one drink, don't get behind the wheel of a car - there's so many alternatives." He suggested contacting a friend, hailing a taxi, or using ride-sharing apps like Uber as safer options.
Sources indicate that after several "challenging moments," Biel is now focused on moving forward with family life. The couple, who married in 2012, are parents to two sons: Silas, born in April 2015, and Phineas, born in 2020. According to insiders, Biel is "happiest when she's able to focus on family life" alongside her professional work.
The source emphasized that Biel is "not afraid to express when she's disappointed in certain decisions" and that this situation represented one of those moments. Despite the public scrutiny, the couple appears determined to put the incident behind them and concentrate on their family and careers.
