Lindsey Buckingham Spotted Driving After Attack by Stalker Suspect
Fleetwood Mac legend Lindsey Buckingham has been seen driving his car in Brentwood, Los Angeles, marking his first public appearance since he was attacked two days earlier. The 76-year-old musician, who appeared somewhat bleary but unhurt, was spotted pulling out of his home on Friday, demonstrating his ability to drive himself following the shocking assault.
Attack Follows Years of Stalking and Legal Battles
The assault occurred on Wednesday when an unidentified woman threw an unknown substance at Buckingham in the Santa Monica area. While authorities have not publicly confirmed the attacker's identity, the suspect is being treated as a stalking case and is reportedly known to Buckingham from prior incidents. This attack comes just over a year after Buckingham obtained a permanent restraining order against 54-year-old Michelle Dick, who has been plaguing his family since 2021.
Buckingham's legal declaration reveals a chilling campaign of harassment. He accused Dick of threatening to kill him and his family, showing up at his house, and even making a fake 911 call that resulted in police handcuffing him while he slept. Dick has repeatedly claimed to be Buckingham's biological daughter, though Buckingham has sworn he is not her father and had no prior personal relationship with her.
Michelle Dick's Troubled Past Revealed
New information uncovered by the Daily Mail reveals Dick's criminal history predating her involvement with Buckingham. In 2016, she was arrested in Alameda County, California, facing multiple charges including:
- Driving under the influence (DUI)
- Excessive blood alcohol levels
- Battery with injury on a peace officer
- Resisting and obstructing officers
Dick ultimately pleaded no contest to driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 percent or higher and admitted to excessive blood alcohol. She served three days in jail followed by three years of probation ending in January 2020, just before her harassment of Buckingham's family began.
Restraining Order and Continued Harassment
Buckingham's current five-year restraining order against Dick, granted in December 2024, extends a temporary order that had expired. The permanent order requires Dick to stay 100 yards away from Buckingham, his wife Kristen, and their son William, and prohibits any contact or threats. However, legal documents show authorities struggled to serve Dick with the order, with an unsuccessful attempt in December 2025.
Despite the restraining order, Dick gave a bizarre interview to KTLA on Thursday, confessing she had visited Buckingham's house "last year" and approached him just last week. She maintained her claim that Buckingham is her "birth father," stating, "He wasn't a father to me but he's my birth father."
Family Support and Security Concerns
Following Wednesday's attack, Buckingham's family has rallied around him. His 26-year-old daughter Leelee Welles Buckingham was seen arriving at his Brentwood home with her boyfriend Axel Youngdale, carrying her dog Billy and appearing concerned. It was Leelee and her mother who first contacted detectives about Dick's harassing voicemails in 2021, leading to the opening of an investigation.
Security has been heightened around Buckingham, with a representative from the executive protection firm Lions 4 Security seen among visitors to his home. Buckingham's wife Kristen had previously installed security at her separate residence due to Dick's harassment.
While law enforcement has identified a suspect in Wednesday's assault, no arrest had been made as of Thursday. The investigation continues as Buckingham recovers from the latest incident in what appears to be years of targeted harassment against the legendary musician and his family.
