Rob Reiner & Wife Murdered, Son Nick Charged

The entertainment world is reeling from a horrific tragedy after legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer, were found murdered in their multi-million-pound Brentwood home. Their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, has been identified by police as responsible for the fatal stabbings that occurred on Sunday.

Hollywood Stars Mourn a Profound Loss

Actress Demi Moore, who starred in Reiner's acclaimed 1992 legal thriller A Few Good Men, led the tributes, expressing her 'unfathomable devastation' in a poignant Instagram post. The 63-year-old star recalled how deeply intertwined their lives and families had been.

'Our kids grew up together, we worked together, and as our lives intertwined personally and professionally I will always cherish the moments and memories,' Moore wrote on Monday. She described the couple as 'amazing people and wonderful parents who gave of themselves to make the world a better place.'

Moore shared a nostalgic photo from the set of A Few Good Men, featuring herself, Reiner, Tom Cruise, and Kevin Bacon, as well as a picture of the couple at a 1989 premiere.

A Son Charged and a Family's Long Struggle

The couple were discovered at their $13.5 million mansion by their daughter, Romy, 28. Their son Nick, who has a documented history of drug addiction and mental health struggles, is now facing federal murder charges and is being held without bail.

Just hours before the tragedy, Nick had attended a holiday party with his parents, where guests reportedly became concerned after a 'very loud argument.' A source told PEOPLE he was 'acting crazy' and asking attendees if they were famous.

The family's struggle with Nick's addiction was public knowledge. In past interviews, Rob and Michele expressed regret over how they initially handled his condition, admitting they relied too heavily on medical professionals instead of listening to their son. Nick had reportedly been to rehab 17 times by the age of 22.

Co-Stars Remember a Kind and Collaborative Director

Kevin Bacon, another star of A Few Good Men, shared an emotional video tribute, calling the film's production 'one of the best experiences I've ever had on a set.' He fondly recalled having lunch with Reiner and Michele every day, a unique practice in his career.

'He was so fun. It really comes down from the top... a safe and pleasant and fun situation,' Bacon stated. Kiefer Sutherland also paid tribute, saying Reiner gave him a life-changing opportunity when he was young and was 'one of the kindest gentleman' he had ever worked with.

The Reiners leave behind three children: Jake, 34, Nick, and Romy, 28. Rob Reiner also had an adopted daughter, Tracy, from his previous marriage to Penny Marshall. The family has requested privacy during this 'unbelievably difficult time.'
