Lauren Goodger has opened up about why she has not told her four-year-old daughter Larose about the death of her baby sister Lorena, who tragically passed away shortly after birth in 2022.
The former TOWIE star appeared on This Morning on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, ahead of what would have been Lorena's fourth birthday. During the interview, she discussed her book Mum Of Two: Love, Loss and My Life and explained her decision to shield Larose from the pain of losing her sibling.
Lauren's Decision to Protect Larose
Speaking to presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Lauren said: "She has kept me going. She doesn't know [about Lorena's death] she has no idea what's happened." She added: "Just because she's still young and I don't want her to feel any pain, she doesn't need to, I'll explain when she's older but in a more positive way."
Lauren, 37, shares Larose with ex-partner Charles Drury. She revealed that the family celebrates Lorena's anniversary with Larose, saying: "We do celebrate her [Lorena] anniversary with Larose, we let off balloons and she thinks it's for her."
The Impact of Losing Lorena
Lorena died moments after birth when her umbilical cord became wrapped around her neck. Lauren described the loss as "the worst thing I have ever been through. I'm still not over it. It's completely changed me as a person."
She candidly shared how her life has changed: "I'm still healing and getting my confidence back and loads of things in my personal life have changed. Little things like I go to bed really early, I don't drink alcohol. I really find it really hard to socialise."
Lauren continued: "I'm coming out of that now. But even today's the first day where I got in a taxi on my own because I can't. I just have this severe anxiety."
Remembering Lorena
Previously, in an interview with OK! magazine, Lauren described her final 24 hours with Lorena: "I just spent the night looking at her and touching her. I held her hands and her little feet. I spoke to her and told her I loved her and all about Larose."
She added: "She just looked so perfect and beautiful and I couldn't stop taking photos of her. For those 24 hours it was just beautiful to be with her. I didn't want to let her go."
