Jeremy Clarkson, the former Top Gear host and star of Clarkson's Farm, won over his long-term girlfriend Lisa Hogan with a simple invitation. The couple, who began dating in 2017, were introduced by mutual friends at a Christmas party, where Clarkson asked her to sit and chat.
How Clarkson Made His Move
Appearing on RTÉ Radio in 2024, Hogan, now 52, recalled the moment sparks flew. 'I was just about to leave and we were introduced and he said, "No, no, come on, sit down and have a chat." And that was it, really,' she said. The 10-word invitation convinced her to give him a chance.
Despite initial reservations about Clarkson's 'rep,' Hogan said he had to work hard to win her over. 'So he called me a couple of days later and I thought, "Ok, you've got a bit of a rep" - so he had to really court me! He courted me for a solid three months!' she revealed.
Life Together at Diddly Squat Farm
As of 2026, the couple have been together for nearly a decade and live together at Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds. Clarkson recently confirmed that season six of Clarkson's Farm is in production, after sharing his cancer diagnosis in the last finale.
Hogan, a former model and sculptor from Dublin, has no interest in marriage. Speaking to The Sun's Fabulous Magazine in 2022, she said: 'Mrs Clarkson? No, thank you, I like Lisa Hogan.' She added: 'We're at a stage where we are not going to have kids. I'm just happy pootling along.'
Previous Marriages and Children
Both Hogan and Clarkson have been married before. Hogan was previously married to Baron Steven Bentinck, with whom she shares three children: Lizzy (Elizabeth), Wolfe, and Alice. Clarkson was married to Alex Hall from 1989 to 1990, and Frances Cain from 1993 to 2014, with whom he has three children: daughters Emily and Katya, and son Finlo.
Hogan noted that their age and past experiences make their relationship easier. 'I think because of our age, it's much easier. You go: "God, is it you I end up with? OK, that's it." But it's relaxing knowing you are not going to be with anybody else. It gives you a certain amount of liberation,' she explained.
