Bridgerton's Expanding Universe: Seasons 5 and 6 Confirmed
Bridgerton season four, part two has been captivating global audiences since its recent release on Netflix. Countless fans have already devoured the four new episodes and are now eagerly anticipating news about the future of this beloved Regency-era franchise.
Current Bridgerton Seasons Available
A total of four complete seasons of Bridgerton are currently available for streaming on Netflix. The streaming giant has already commissioned both seasons five and six simultaneously, ensuring the continuation of this cultural phenomenon.
In May 2025, an official announcement through Lady Whistledown's Society Papers declared: "Dearest Gentle Reader, Rarely is this author granted the opportunity to share with you such information. It is with great pleasure I can announce Bridgerton shall return for Seasons 5 and 6. Do celebrate accordingly."
Season Five Production Underway
Season five has already been written and is currently in production, though Netflix is keeping details about the main heroine closely guarded. Speculation suggests either Eloise Bridgerton (portrayed by Claudia Jessie) or Francesca Bridgerton (played by Hannah Dodd) will take the spotlight in the upcoming season.
While the original novels by American author Julia Quinn would suggest Eloise's narrative should follow next, the Netflix series has already demonstrated willingness to deviate from the literary chronology, making predictions uncertain.
The Complete Bridgerton Collection
Following the broadcast of seasons five and six, Netflix's Bridgerton collection will expand to six main instalments. Viewers are now wondering whether the streaming service will commission seasons seven and eight, which would complete the adaptation of all eight Bridgerton novels.
Beyond the main series, Netflix has already produced Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, a limited series created by Shonda Rhimes that serves as a prequel to the main television series. Including this spin-off would bring the total number of Bridgerton-related seasons to nine.
Additional Spin-offs in Development
Netflix plans to significantly broaden the Bridgerton universe with additional stories, capitalizing on the period drama's establishment as a global cultural phenomenon. Producer and director Tom Verica revealed to Deadline at the Bridgerton season four premiere that discussions regarding further spin-offs were already underway.
Verica explained: "With Queen Charlotte, we thoroughly enjoyed that experience. It was a smaller look at a particular love story that spanned over those episodes, and I think we caught something that people really responded to. So, we are in talks of some other projects, hopefully, something, some news will be coming out at some point."
Audiences must wait to discover which characters these potential spin-offs might centre upon next, but the future of the Bridgerton universe appears bright and expansive.
Bridgerton season four, part two is currently streaming on Netflix, while fans eagerly await further developments about the franchise's continued expansion.
