Disney+ for 16p a Day: Cheaper Than Netflix and Prime

Disney+ has launched a limited-time summer promotion that reduces the price of all three subscription tiers for the first six months, making it one of the most affordable streaming options available. The standard plan with adverts costs just £4.99 for the initial six-month period, which works out at approximately 16p per day based on a 30-day month. After the promotional period, the price rises to £5.99 monthly.

Subscription Tiers and Pricing

The standard plan without adverts is priced at £7.99 for the first six months, then increases to £9.99 per month. The premium tier, which allows up to four simultaneous streams compared to two on the standard plan, is available for £10.99 for six months before rising to £14.99 monthly. All plans include access to Disney's extensive library, including Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney classics like Toy Story, Cinderella, and 101 Dalmatians, as well as acclaimed series such as Paradise and The Bear.

Comparison with Competitors

By contrast, Netflix's standard plan with adverts starts at £5.99 per month with no introductory discount. Amazon Prime Video costs £8.99 monthly, featuring shows like Clarkson's Farm, Young Sherlock, and Jack Ryan. Apple TV+ is priced at £9.99 per month, offering series including Severance, Silo, and Ted Lasso. Disney+ has recently added new titles such as The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Avatar: Fire and Ash, as well as the upcoming adaptation The Testaments from Margaret Atwood's novel.
