HBO Max has officially launched in the United Kingdom, marking a significant shift for TNT Sports viewers who will now need to adapt to this new streaming home. The service, which is the last in Europe to debut, replaces discovery+ as the primary platform for all live sports currently broadcast on TNT Sports.
Seamless Transition for Subscribers
Existing TNT Sports subscribers can log in to HBO Max using their current credentials without any changes to their monthly fee, which remains set at £30.99. Alternatively, users have the option to purchase select HBO Max plans to gain access to a broader range of entertainment content beyond sports.
Expansive Sports and Entertainment Offerings
TNT Sports boasts a comprehensive lineup that was enhanced last year through integration with Eurosport under the Warner Bros Discovery umbrella. This includes premier football events such as the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup matches, alongside Premiership Rugby, the Olympics, tennis tournaments like the French and Australian Open, and the entire cycling season, featuring the Tour de France.
On the entertainment front, HBO Max offers acclaimed television series like Succession and The Sopranos, new hits including The Pitt, and a vast library of films from Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios.
Flexible Subscription Options
It is important to note that TNT Sports will be available either as a standalone subscription or as an add-on to HBO Max entertainment plans, rather than being bundled by default. This flexibility means consumers do not have to pay for sports content if they only desire TV shows and films, or vice versa, allowing for tailored viewing experiences.
Availability and Key Broadcasts
The service will be accessible in the UK via Sky and Prime Video, ensuring wide availability for viewers. The first major men's football match to be shown on TNT Sports through HBO Max is the FA Cup quarter-final between Manchester City and Liverpool, scheduled for 12.15pm BST on Saturday 4 April.
This launch represents a strategic move in the streaming landscape, consolidating sports and entertainment under one roof while offering users greater choice and convenience in their subscription preferences.
