A Place in the Sun Viewers Fume Over Lowball Offer

A Place in the Sun viewers were left fuming after a couple made a 'cheeky' lowball offer on a Spanish property during a repeat episode aired on Thursday, June 25. Presenter Ben Hillman was tasked with finding a holiday home for golf enthusiasts John and Adele in Murcia, Spain, with a budget of £100,000.

Couple's Demands and Property Search

The couple, together for over a decade, sought a two-bedroom property with a bathtub, mountain view, and proximity to a golf course. Ben presented five properties, but a specific apartment on a golf resort with a vast terrace and breathtaking views caught their attention, despite a compact kitchen. Ben admitted, 'I had hoped to give you that fantastic, all singing, all dancing kitchen but I don't think I've quite delivered on that front, but I have given you a light-filled kitchen that has the potential to be expanded into the utility space.'

The Controversial Offer

The property was listed at £92,000, below their budget. However, John and Adele opted to gamble with a low offer of £80,000. Ben was shocked, revealing the bid was too low and the property had generated significant interest from other buyers. Their opening offer was rejected, but after negotiations, they secured the property for £85,840.
