Culture Club frontman Boy George has described his Eurovision cameo appearance as 'fabulous', despite San Marino failing to qualify for the grand final. The singer joined San Marino's entry SENHIT on stage during the first semi-final in Vienna, performing her disco-infused track 'Superstar'.
Semi-Final Exit
San Marino was among 15 countries competing in Tuesday's semi-final, but only 10 advanced to the final. Boy George expressed disappointment at not making the cut but remained upbeat about the experience. 'I'm sad we didn't get through, but honestly, it was fabulous,' he said. 'Thank you to SENHIT and the San Marino delegation for making it so much fun.'
Future Plans
The singer also revealed plans to reunite with SENHIT on stage in Milan this July as part of his Culture Club show. This follows a trend of San Marino collaborating with international stars; in 2021, the microstate enlisted rapper Flo Rida for its entry 'Adrenalina'.
Israel Performance Interrupted
Separately, Israel's entry Noam Bettan faced disruption during his semi-final performance when an audience member shouted 'stop the genocide'. The incident came amid ongoing controversy over Israel's participation in the contest. Despite the interruption, Israel secured a place in the final.
