Coronation Street: Alfie rushed to hospital, Christina's secret

Next week on Coronation Street, Abi Webster's world is turned upside down when her young son Alfie is rushed to hospital after suffering severe breathing difficulties caused by black mould in their flat. The drama unfolds as Abi finally discovers the identity of her elusive landlord: Idris Nazir.

Alfie's Health Crisis

The trouble begins in the café, where Abi complains to Leanne Battersby about her landlord's failure to address damp issues. She later tracks him down when she hears Idris's phone ringing at Speed Daal. That night, as Abi tucks a coughing Alfie into bed, the black mould behind his bed is clearly visible. When Alfie wakes struggling to breathe, a panicked Abi calls ex-husband Kevin Webster, who drives them to A&E. Idris watches anxiously as they carry Alfie out.

At the hospital, Carl Webster rushes to join them. The consultant says they will run tests and keep Alfie in the ICU overnight. Meanwhile, Idris and Brody Michaelis discover the mould in the flat. Hearing Alfie is in a bad way, Idris races to the hospital. The doctor confirms that Alfie's breathing difficulties are directly caused by the mould and advises Abi to find a new home.

Abi's Legal Battle

Leanne and Alya Nazir point out to Idris that whoever sold him the flat must have known about the damp. Abi, unimpressed by Idris's belated efforts to fix the problem, tells him she is taking him to court. Sally Metcalfe urges Abi to sue and suggests they approach Adam Barlow. Sally and Abi persuade Adam to take on the case.

Abi also becomes suspicious of Idris and Brody's behaviour. She tells Sally she saw Brody forcing a man into Idris's car. Sally confides in Tim that Idris isn't what he seems and is leading Brody astray. In the Rovers, Brody introduces Kit to Idris, who is taken aback to learn Brody's dad is a police officer.

Ben Driscoll's Verdict

Elsewhere, Ben Driscoll receives a call that the verdict is in. Eva Price gives him a supportive squeeze. In court, the jury delivers its verdict. Later, in the café, Hope Dobbs reassures Will Driscoll that school gossip is positive. Daniel Osbourne and Will agree to bury the hatchet, acknowledging they were both victims of Megan.

Sam Blakeman apologises to Nick Tilsely for overreacting, accepting that Nick only wanted the best for him. Hope invites Will to visit Sam after school.

Christina's Secret Exposed

George Shuttleworth apologises to Summer Spellman for suspecting her of murder and vows to make it up to her. When Christina Boyd's phone vibrates, she quickly kills the call. She turns down George's offer of a romantic dinner, claiming she has taken on another cleaning job. Suspicious, Glenda Shuttleworth rifles through Christina's handbag and is shocked by what she finds.

George follows Christina to the precinct and watches in horror as she meets a man and embraces him. He confronts her, and Christina confesses the trouble she is in. George advises her to come clean to her friends.

Murder Investigation Stalemate

DS Lisa Connor-Swain tells Todd Grimshaw that they have reached a stalemate in Theo's murder investigation. Todd's lack of interest makes Lisa suspicious. Kit is frustrated at being taken off the case. Lisa and McLaughlin visit Maria Windass to go over her statement. She sticks to her story that she was with husband Gary, but later insists he tell her everything about that night. Maria confides in Kit that things between her and Gary are strained.

Betsy Swain tells Dylan Wilson she will watch him work at Speed Daal, wanting to spend every last minute with him before she moves to London.
