Next week's Coronation Street will lead to an arrest in the Theo Silverton murder case, but will DC Kit Green be able to help his partner, Sarah Platt, before it's too late?
Kit's Proposal and Murder Investigation
As those who follow the ITV soap know, it was revealed that Sarah was responsible for the abuser's death back in April, and that she enlisted her ex, Gary Windass, to help her cover it up. The secret was exposed, to viewers only, during a dramatic dinner party hosted by Kit and Sarah, with Gary, his wife Maria, Todd Grimshaw and Summer Spellman as guests.
According to new spoilers for next week's Corrie, having clocked Gary and Maria arguing on the street, Kit tells DS Lisa Connor-Swain that he is suspicious of their behaviour, leaving Lisa having to remind him that he is off the case. Meanwhile, an upset Maria confides in Sarah that her marriage is falling apart, which later leaves Sarah telling Gary that she is struggling with her guilt, but Gary begs her to keep quiet, otherwise he could go to prison.
Soon, Sarah arrives home to find Kit has cooked a romantic lunch. Kit drops to one knee and asks her to marry him, what answer will she give?
Arrest Looms for Theo's Murder
Later in the week, Kit warns Sarah that her freedom is in Gary's hands and she needs to get hold of his phone so they can delete any data which might incriminate her. It seems she gets the phone as the next spoiler tells us that Kit secretly calls the guy tasked with wiping the data from Gary's phone and asks him to forward any information he can find to his personal email address. On the street, DC McLaughlin tells Lisa that they're ready to arrest Theo's murderer.
Betsy's Hospital Dash
Elsewhere in Weatherfield, after a disastrous attempt at cooking breakfast for Dylan Wilson, Betsy Swain asks him for some cooking lessons. Dylan shows Betsy how to make a bolognese and assures her that they'll make their long-distance relationship work, leaving her with a smile as they hug. But somehow, disaster strikes, and an ambulance pulls away from No.6 with its siren blaring. At the hospital, Ryan Connor explains to Carla how he returned home to find Betsy unconscious on the kitchen floor.
At Betsy's bedside, a nurse explains to a tearful Lisa that they are taking Betsy for an MRI Scan. Soon, Dylan arrives to see Betsy, but comes running out of the room and tells Lisa and Carla that she seems to be having some kind of fit. Lisa and Carla are then left to watch in horror as the doctor tends to Betsy.
As the week unfolds, an upset Betsy begs Lisa not to blame Dylan for what happened. Meanwhile, when Sean Tully suggests to Dylan that they go together to visit Betsy, Dylan shuts the conversation down, leaving Sean suspicious. Later in the cafe, Sean is shocked when a furious Lisa turns on Dylan and blames him for Betsy's collapse. And it's not long before Lisa calls at the station and tells the desk sergeant she'd like to report a crime.
Dylan's left upset when Lauren tells him that Betsy is in a bad way and doesn't want to see him, but soon, a shocked Fiz Dobbs tells Sean that she has just seen two police officers arrest Dylan at the precinct. Unaware that Lauren told Dylan to stay away, Betsy is stunned to discover Lisa has reported him to the police. Later, when Sean and Dylan go into the Rovers, Lauren refuses to serve them. But Dylan says that he believes Brody Michaelis was responsible for what happened to Betsy. How will Betsy and Brody react when they hear what Dylan is saying?
Mary's Revenge on Christina
And also next week in Weatherfield, George Shuttleworth and Christina Boyd return home to find Mary Taylor holding a flash sale and flogging some household items, which Christina recently bought. Christina's furious, but Mary points out they were bought on her card and they're hers to sell. At No.11, Mary continues to make jibes at Christina over her fraudulent spending habits. Meanwhile, Christina looks at the 'package out for delivery' message on her phone, and her heart sinks.
