Paramount Plus has dropped the official trailer for The Crow Girl season two on Thursday, July 2, revealing a darker and more chilling continuation of the bestselling adaptation. The second season picks up after the shocking season finale, with DCI Jeanette Kilburn (Eve Myles) hunting for the killers of young male asylum seekers, a case that takes a shocking new turn.
New Victims and New Secrets
The official synopsis reveals that Jeanette discovers a mummified body in a church wall and a body in a freezer, both with a chilling connection. Meanwhile, Dr. Sophia Craven (Katherine Kelly) begins to suspect that her mysterious former patient Victoria Burkeman may be responsible for the murders.
As the investigation deepens, Jeanette and Sophia's trust and judgment are strained, making their relationship increasingly complex and emotionally charged. The synopsis concludes: "With the investigation growing darker, Sophia suspects Victoria is closer to the truth than she thought, leading them into a disturbing web of historic abuse and buried truths. With time running out, Jeanette must face the terrifying truth: the killer may be closer than she ever imagined."
Dissociative Identity Disorder Revealed
In the season two trailer, Sophia talks about experiencing "blackouts," which is part of her Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), confirming that she and Victoria are the same person. Fans were shocked in season one to learn that Sophia, an alternate personality of Victoria, killed Ben Burkeman (Michael Lumsden) and Carl Lowry (Trevor White). The new season will explore whether she continues to kill.
Release Date and Episode Schedule
The Crow Girl season two premieres on Paramount Plus on Monday, July 20. The series consists of six one-hour episodes, with new instalments dropping weekly. The finale is expected on Monday, August 24.
