Paramount has officially renewed Dutton Ranch for a second season, following the record-breaking success of its first season on Paramount+. The Yellowstone sequel, which follows Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) as they build a new life on a Texas ranch, concluded its debut season with a cliffhanger that has left fans eager for more.
Dutton Ranch Season 2 Greenlit After Record-Breaking Debut
Paramount gave the series the green light shortly before the Season 1 finale aired. In a statement, Matt Thunell, President of Paramount Television Studios, said: "Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters, while establishing its own identity. Thank you to our partners at Paramount+ and 101 Studios for a phenomenal first season. We look forward to bringing fans more stories from these unforgettable characters in Season 2."
The renewal comes as no surprise given that Dutton Ranch was Paramount+’s biggest original series launch in its history. However, no release date has been announced yet, as production schedules and the search for a new showrunner will determine the timeline. Creator Chad Feehan departed shortly before the show's launch, leaving the series in need of a new lead.
Cast Expected to Return for Dutton Ranch Season 2
Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are expected to reprise their roles as Beth and Rip. Other main cast members likely to return include Finn Little as Carter Green, Ed Harris as Everett McKinney, and Annette Bening as Beulah Jackson. Supporting cast expected back includes Juan Pablo Raba as Joaquin Jackson Reyes, J. R. Villarreal as Azul Ramos, Marc Menchaca as Zachariah Moss, and Natalie Alyn Lind as Oreana Lynn Jackson. Jai Courtney will not return after his character Rob-Will Jackson was killed off in Season 1.

Season 2 will pick up from the explosive Season 1 finale, which saw Beth and Rip racing to save their kidnapped son, Carter. Carter was taken by Mariano, who warned that war was coming.
