Good Omens Finale Leaves Fans in Tears

The third and final instalment of Good Omens has left fans in tears following a bittersweet and beautiful ending. The feature-length finale dropped on Prime Video, marking the end of the beloved fantasy drama.

A Long-Awaited Conclusion

After a period of uncertainty about the show's future, it was announced that the TV adaptation would conclude with a 90-minute episode. Fans initially worried they would not get the ending they deserved, as the story needed to be wrapped up quickly. However, after watching the finale, their concerns were completely alleviated.

The final episode saw Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Crowley (David Tennant) make amends and reunite to track down the missing Book of Life and save the day. However, they were not entirely successful and ended up being two of the only people left in the universe—until they were presented with a life-changing decision.

A New Beginning

God (Tanya Moodie), appearing in the flesh for the first time, gave Crowley and Aziraphale the chance to request a new universe, free of angels and demons. Although it meant the pair would cease to exist in their current forms, they knew it was the right decision for a new Earth where humans had more freedom.

After their request was granted, a time-jump revealed Aziraphale in human form as the owner of the iconic bookshop. He encountered the human version of Crowley, who was an author. The pair shared an instant connection, and after Aziraphale bravely asked Crowley out on a date, they ended up getting married and growing old together.

Fan Reactions

Fans were left in tears following the heartwarming ending and took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts. One fan exclaimed: 'SCREAMING. CRYING. THROWING UP. OH MY GOD.' Another added: 'I'm not okay after that ending,' sharing a photo of themselves crying.

A third fan wrote: 'Aziraphale and Crowley would fall in love in every universe and I think that's beautiful.' A fourth commented: 'And I'll say it, that was the happiest ending we could've ever possibly gotten omfg how perfect. I'm going to lose my mind I'm so unwell.'

A final fan concluded: 'I'm actually sobbing my f****** eyes out. I literally can't watch this show ever again or I'll be bawling my eyes out again. WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO US.'
