The eight-part psychological thriller Meadowlands, starring David Morrissey, is now available to stream for free in the UK via Channel 4's streaming platform. The series originally aired in 2007 and was also known as Cape Wrath in the United States.
Premise and Cast
Meadowlands follows the Brogan family as they enter witness protection and settle into an idyllic suburban neighbourhood. However, their past soon threatens to resurface, and the community becomes entangled in a web of deception and menace. The series was compared to Twin Peaks upon its release.
The cast includes Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises), Lucy Cohu (COBRA), Tristan Gemmill (Coronation Street), Melanie Hill (Casualty), Don Gilet (Death in Paradise), Sian Brooke (Blue Lights), and Clarke Peters (The Wire).
David Morrissey's Career
David Morrissey, 62, from Liverpool, is best known for his role as The Governor in The Walking Dead and has also appeared in Sherwood and Gone. His recent series Tip Toe, created by Russell T Davies, was a major hit for Channel 4, becoming the broadcaster's best new 9pm drama debut since Patience in January 2025.

All eight episodes of Meadowlands will be available to stream on Channel 4's streaming service from Thursday, July 2. Despite its critical acclaim, the series was cancelled after one season due to low ratings.
