Love Island hopeful Robyn Langton has boldly declared that she embodies the spirit of iconic former islanders Maura Higgins and Olivia Attwood. The 21-year-old, who works as a quantity surveyor and DJ, believes her personality aligns closely with the fan favourites.
Robyn's Inspiration
Speaking ahead of the show's launch on 1 June, Robyn was asked which former contestants she admires. Without hesitation, she said: 'I loved Maura Higgins and Olivia Attwood. I think I have a similar personality to them. I can be quite wild.'
Robyn, a blonde from Liverpool, is one of the youngest in this year's original lineup. She was just 13 and 15 when Olivia and Maura appeared on the show, but she feels a strong connection to their feisty attitudes.
What Makes Her Similar?
Robyn clarified: 'I wouldn't say I bring a lot of drama but I'm quite headstrong, and, like Olivia and Maura, I like to have fun. I think everyday in my life is a show at this point. I like to live in Robyn's world and everyone at home says the world does not revolve around me... but it does.'
Maura and Olivia became known for their witty one-liners and no-nonsense attitudes. Maura coined 'fanny flutters', while Olivia introduced 'd***sand'. Both were unafraid to confront partners.
No Time for Drama
Robyn says she won't engage in prolonged arguments. She stated: 'If another girl can steal my man, then he wasn't mine anyway. I'll move very quickly onto the next. I am a very very confident person so I'm not worrying about competition.'
She is looking for a partner who is 'tall, fair, muscles, nice teeth, pretty boy' but emphasises personality: 'They've got to make me laugh, be charming, and have good manners.' Her type includes Jacques O'Neill and Luca Bish from series eight, or series seven winner Liam Reardon.
Red Flags
Robyn has clear deal-breakers: 'My biggest red flag is a mummy's boy. I'm not here to be anyone's mum. If a red flag does show up, I won't waste my time on that. I'll shut it off quite early.' She also dislikes mullet wearers with bad breath.
Despite her young age, Robyn insists she is mature and knows what she wants, largely due to her career as a DJ since age 16. She loves her job but admits it has made her dating life 'brief'. Even if Love Island leads to influencer opportunities, she plans to continue DJing.
Entering for Love
Robyn is '100%' going into the villa for love. 'I am going in there for myself. If I have to step on some toes to get what I want, I will.'
Love Island starts on Monday 1st June on ITV2 and ITVX.
