The Pitt Season 3 is slated to premiere on HBO in January 2027, following the pattern of its predecessors which both debuted at the start of the year and aired weekly. HBO Max announced the renewal on Instagram with a video of the cast holding a number three balloon, captioned: “The work never stops (especially when renewed for Season 3). #ThePitt will return for Season 3 on HBO Max in 2027.”
The season is expected to consist of 15 episodes, matching the first two seasons. It remains unclear whether The Pitt Season 3 will be available on HBO Max UK & Ireland simultaneously with the US, though the recent UK rollout of HBO Max may enable a same-day release.
Executive producer and director John Wells told Deadline that production would begin in June 2026, following the writers room assembly in March 2026.

Noah Wyle returns as Dr. Michael ‘Robby’ Robinavitch. New cast members joining Season 3 include Pruitt Taylor Vince (Superman), Malachi Beasley (A House of Dynamite), Cheyenne Perez (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Jeremy Radin (The Accountant 2), Charlz Williams (Seal Team), and Rosanny Zayas (The L Word: Generation Q). Their roles have not been announced but may involve patients or family members appearing across multiple episodes.

Lead and executive producer Noah Wyle confirmed that Season 3 will be set in early November, just before Veterans Day or the Thanksgiving holidays. At an Upfronts event, he teased that the season would bring “a whole new set of emergencies and confrontations and complications.”
