Weather Presenter Hospitalised After On-Air Crab Attack

Australian weather presenter Taylor Haynes was hospitalised after a crab latched onto her finger during a live broadcast at Sydney Fish Market on Friday morning. The incident occurred as she was reporting on seafood offerings ahead of the Easter weekend.

Haynes, visibly shocked by the size of the crab and its pincers, nevertheless held the crustacean. After playfully kissing it at the request of co-host Michael Atkinson, she screamed as the crab gripped her finger and refused to let go. Co-host Alison Piotrowski later checked in on her, and Haynes described the pain as 'real' and noted she had lost movement in her finger.

Following the broadcast, Haynes posted an Instagram update showing her in a hospital waiting room. She thanked the fish market and Today Show crew for their response, assured followers her finger was not broken but 'very bruised and swollen', and joked she was 'taking that as a win'. The fish market commented, hoping to see her back 'maybe with a prawn instead'.
