During a repeat episode of A Place in the Sun aired on Tuesday, June 30, presenter Jean Johansson returned to screens to help Richard and Rooman search for a two-bedroom villa in Fuengirola, Spain, with a budget of £130,000.
First property fails to impress
The first villa had only one bedroom, and Jean admitted she had to make 'some compromises.' Rooman immediately ruled it out, saying, 'I'm going to rule this out, just based on the space actually, if I'm being really honest.' Jean replied, 'So as well as being quite decisive, you're quite brutal!' Although the rest of the property impressed the couple, the NHS workers could not commit.
Second viewing goes wrong
Jean then showed an apartment in the center of the action, but Rooman expressed dissatisfaction with the communal pool before entering. Inside, both were let down. Jean confessed, 'I can put my hands up when I've got something wrong.' The couple declared the apartment 'doesn't feel like a holiday home' and ended the viewing.
Viewer reactions
When the episode originally aired, fans took to X to comment. One said, 'Jean is not happy... look at her face!' Another noted, 'They seem to want more than their budget can buy.' A third added, 'FFS this pair are hard work.' A fourth joked, 'Jean will be fewwmin soon.'
Happy ending
Despite early doubts, the final property impressed Richard and Rooman, and they submitted an offer. Jean revealed the bid was accepted, much to their delight. A Place in the Sun airs weekdays from 3pm on Channel 4.
