Richard Hammond Sets Record Straight on Being Banned from Jeremy Clarkson's Pub
Hammond Breaks Silence on Clarkson Pub Ban

Richard Hammond has set the record straight on whether he is "banned" from his former colleague Jeremy Clarkson's pub. The question arose during a recent DriveTribe video, where Hammond addressed internet queries about himself.

Hammond's Response to the Ban Rumour

When asked if he had been barred from Clarkson's Cotswolds pub, The Farmer's Dog, Hammond replied: "Actually, do you know, I think I am. I think I am, and if I'm not, I've always said I want to be." The pub gained fame through the Amazon Prime series Clarkson's Farm.

This is not the first time the topic has surfaced. In 2024, Hammond met James May at May's own pub and joked about seeking a ban there as well. During the DriveTribe video, Hammond said: "My stated intention when you said you bought a pub was to get myself banned. What do I have to do?"

Exchange with James May

May responded: "A pub is a place for discussion, difference of opinion, so we're not going to bar you for holding a radical view. However, if you damage any of the artworks, break the windows, or insult any of my delightful young staff, then [my colleague] Jamie will assist you in leaving through the window."

Hammond then added: "I'll go for a ban. Jeremy's told me I'm already banned from his pub." May replied that Clarkson had told him he was banned too, comparing it to being "banned from the golf club" – a place he had no intention of visiting anyway.

Background on the Trio

Hammond's bond with Clarkson dates back to their Top Gear days, continuing on Amazon's The Grand Tour alongside James May before the show ended in 2024. Their on-screen antics often involved practical jokes and car sabotage, a dynamic that appears to persist off screen.

The Farmer's Dog, owned by Clarkson, has become a popular destination since featuring on Clarkson's Farm. Meanwhile, Clarkson recently attended the wedding of his co-star Kaleb Cooper, who married Taya Wilkinson earlier this month. Clarkson reportedly supplied Hawkstone-branded alcohol for the reception.
