Eighties film icon Kelly LeBrock has spoken candidly about her dramatic shift from Hollywood glamour to a secluded life on a ranch, declaring she swapped 'diamonds for dirt'. The star, best known for her role as Lisa in the 1985 cult classic Weird Science, made a rare public appearance at the Vanderpump Dog Gala in Los Angeles.
From Dream Woman to Ranch Recluse
Now 65, LeBrock was a vision of rustic style at the event, clad in a cowboy hat and boots personalised with her initials. In an exclusive chat, she detailed her idyllic, yet demanding, life on her property in Santa Ynez, California. 'I don't really go out anymore. I'm sort of a bit of a recluse, but I like it like that,' she admitted to The Daily Mail.
Her day-to-day existence is a world away from Tinseltown. 'I have a big ranch that I have horses and cattle and dogs and chickens, and I take care of it myself,' LeBrock explained, noting she employs just one man for a single day each week to assist. She described her home, situated behind a lake in the Santa Ynez Valley, as a 'little gem' and living 'in church' due to the incredible surrounding countryside.
Promoting Healing and Discussing Health
The star's appearance was linked to promoting a new skincare product designed for animals, which led her to open up about her own past health struggles. LeBrock revealed she has battled skin cancer 'a couple of times'.
She passionately endorsed the product, claiming it acted as a 'miracle drug'. 'I had a big skin cancer here, big hole that they made in me, and it's completely gone. You can't even see it,' she stated, highlighting its efficacy for both animals and humans. She emphasised the formula is all-natural and environmentally friendly, capable of healing open wounds that cannot be stitched.
A Quarter-Century Away from the Spotlight
LeBrock's retreat from Hollywood life began in earnest following her divorce from actor Steven Seagal. She has now lived on her ranch for 25 years, embracing a lifestyle without television and minimal contact with the outside world.
Her journey to fame began with the 1985 John Hughes film Weird Science, where she played the computer-generated dream woman of two teenage boys. The movie was a box office hit, earning $38.9 million worldwide. In her personal life, LeBrock has been married three times: to Victor Drai (1984-1986), Steven Seagal (1987-1996), with whom she had a daughter, Arissa, and to Fred Steck (2007-2008).
Today, the message from the former screen siren is clear: true contentment was found not in the glitz of Hollywood, but in the simple, hard-earned peace of her rural sanctuary.
