Light in the Hall Season 2 Ending Reveals Megan Killed Llyr
Light in the Hall Season 2 Ending: Megan Killed Llyr

Channel 4's Welsh thriller Light in the Hall concluded its second series, Still Waters, with several major twists. The finale answered the central mystery of who really killed Llyr (Ieuan Evans), revealing that his sister Megan (Mali Tudno Jones) was responsible.

Megan Confesses to Killing Llyr

Aspiring journalist Caryl (Sian Reese-Williams) had been receiving threatening text messages throughout the series, warning her to stop investigating Llyr's death. The same number later sent her a message asking to meet at a derelict warehouse. When Caryl arrived, she was confronted by Megan, who admitted to the killing.

Megan explained that she had tried to stop her brother from detonating a bomb at the reservoir expansion site in 1995. She said: "I loved my brother so much. And for a long time, it was just him and me. But he wouldn't stop. I didn't have a choice." During a struggle, Megan grabbed Llyr's bolt cutters and struck him on the head, intending only to injure him. She fled home, and the bomb exploded, but Llyr had already died from the head injury.

Aftermath of the Confession

Following her confession, Megan was arrested by her own husband, Gareth (Matthew Gravelle). Meanwhile, convicted killer Rhys Owen (Mark Lewis Jones), who had spent 22 years in prison for Llyr's murder, confronted his father Bryn (Wyn Bowen Harries). Bryn had previously insisted he was not involved in the explosion, but he admitted to lending Rhys' tools to Llyr, explaining why Rhys' fingerprints were on the bolt cutters. Bryn had initially planned to help with the bombing but backed out, leaving Llyr as the sole perpetrator of the explosion.

Rhys was cleared of all wrongdoing and chose to stay in Llanemlyn with his father. Megan now faces a substantial prison sentence. Caryl wrote an article covering the affair for The Western Herald, but hesitated about "hurting people." Rhys reassured her: "You say you care about the community, do your job."

The Light in the Hall: Still Waters is available to watch on Channel 4.
