A 13-year-old boy has died after getting into difficulty in a reservoir in West Yorkshire. Emergency services were called to Leadbeater Dam off Lumb Lane in Halifax at 3.18pm on Bank Holiday Monday (25 May).
West Yorkshire Police reported that the boy was in difficulty in the water. His body was recovered and he was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police, firefighters, and paramedics attended the scene.
Enquiries are ongoing by Calderdale CID, but police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances. The incident has left the local community in shock.
