91-Year-Old Father Welcomes Seventh Child, Defies Critics

Pierre Sablé, a 91-year-old man from Southern France, has recently celebrated the birth of his seventh child, a daughter named Louisa Maria, with his 39-year-old partner, Aïcha. This remarkable event has sparked attention, but Pierre has a straightforward and defiant response for any critics who might question his life choices.

A Nonagenarian Embraces Fatherhood Again

Pierre, who recently marked his 91st birthday, is now the father of six daughters from six different mothers, with his eldest child, Carole, being 60 years old—making her sixty years older than his newborn. He also had a son, Jean-Pierre, conceived when Pierre was around 18 or 19 with a woman named Madeleine, though he only learned of this son's existence much later. Despite the age differences and the passing of his son, Pierre remains undeterred, caring for seven-month-old Louisa Maria at their family farmhouse in Pyrénées-Orientales, near Ille-sur-Têt.

Defiant Words for Critics

In interviews with French newspapers Le Parisien and L’Indépendant, Pierre shared his unapologetic stance. He stated, "Those who know me know that I do what I want and I don't have to answer to anyone." He doesn't consider himself "that old" and attributes his longevity to an active lifestyle, including trail running and working the land as if he were twenty years younger. Pierre even joked about writing to actor Robert De Niro, who became a father at 82, saying, "I feel like writing to him: 'You've been beaten, old man.'"

Family Dynamics and Lifestyle

Pierre's daughters range in age from 60 to seven months: Carole (60), Julie (50), Pauline (35), Céleste (30), Jeanne (24), and Louisa Maria (7 months). He has had children with women who were typically about fifteen years his junior, but he claims to avoid the "trap" of becoming a "stereotypical ageing playboy," instead enjoying being around younger people. His partner Aïcha, a fruit grower, describes him as a "good dad" and a "very good life partner," highlighting their happiness despite the 52-year age gap.

Active Life and Achievements

A keen athlete, Pierre enjoys downhill skiing, snowboarding, running, and cycling. His active lifestyle earned him the honour of bearing the Olympic torch in 2024 in the Catalan region. After switching from a career as an estate agent to farming, he and Aïcha have planted pistachio trees on their property. Pierre, who says he is "30 years old at heart," met Aïcha at the "foot of the slopes of Pyrénées 2000," and they continue to lead a vibrant life together.

Heartwarming Fatherhood Moments

In a touching final remark, Pierre revealed that he actively participates in caring for his youngest child, giving her bottles and singing nursery rhymes to her. This personal involvement underscores his commitment to fatherhood, regardless of age, and adds a heartfelt dimension to his story of resilience and defiance against societal norms.
