Amy Hart Hospital Dash After Baby Movement Change: Urges Mums to Call Triage
Amy Hart Hospital Dash After Baby Movement Change

Former Love Island contestant Amy Hart has opened up about being urgently admitted to hospital this week after detecting a significant change in her unborn baby's movement pattern. The 33-year-old reality television personality, who is expecting her second child with husband Sam Rason, 38, took to social media to share her experience and issue a vital reminder to other expectant mothers.

Immediate Hospital Response

Amy revealed that on Wednesday, she noticed an unusual alteration in her baby's typical movement routine. Acting promptly on medical advice she has previously received, she immediately contacted her maternity triage service. The swift response from healthcare professionals resulted in her being invited straight into hospital for comprehensive monitoring and tests.

The mother-to-be reassured her followers that all monitoring showed a strong and healthy heartbeat, and she was subsequently discharged home in good health. During her hospital visit, Amy managed to complete most of her makeup preparations for a work commitment that evening, demonstrating her characteristic positive outlook despite the concerning situation.

A Crucial Public Message

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Amy emphasised the critical importance of trusting maternal instincts and seeking medical advice without delay. She wrote: 'Just a reminder that if your movement changes at all call the triage!!' The television personality contrasted her current pregnancy experience with her first, explaining that with son Stanley, now two, she had no discernible pattern due to an anterior placenta position.

'With Stanley I had no pattern at all and an anterior placenta so was always unsure if I was over reacting and being a nuisance,' Amy confessed. 'So sometimes would leave it 2/3 (or 4) days and then get reminded I should have called earlier!'

She continued: 'This time I feel lots even though I have a front placenta again and have more of a pattern so when it changed today I called up and was invited straight in.'

Anxiety Following Previous Losses

The hospital visit comes against a backdrop of heightened anxiety for Amy and Sam, who have experienced two previous miscarriages before this pregnancy. In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail earlier this month, Amy detailed how these losses have profoundly affected their emotional journey toward expanding their family.

The couple admitted struggling to celebrate their positive pregnancy test this time, with Amy revealing they simply said 'okay' and tried to continue with normal life rather than dwelling on the pregnancy. She explained that after their first miscarriage following a month of trying, and a second loss after initial excitement, they adopted a more guarded approach this third time.

Amy shared: 'Sam is very excited, but he's quite anxious as well. He's like, "until the baby's here, I can't quite relax."' Despite these understandable fears, she reported that their son Stanley is 'really excited' about becoming a big brother and that aside from first-trimester nausea, her pregnancy has progressed without major symptoms.

Responding to Parenting Criticism

The television personality also addressed the challenging experience of mum-shaming from online trolls who have criticised her parenting methods with Stanley. Amy revealed she has developed a thicker skin and intends to 'trust herself more' when her second child arrives.

'I think when I had Stanley, everyone was very like, "oh, you're doing this wrong, you're doing this wrong, you're doing this wrong, you're overfeeding him,"' she recalled. 'I was like, "do you want me to leave him to be hungry? I'm really confused."'

Reflecting on her son's development, Amy added: 'And I think this time, I look at Stanley now and he's healthy, perfectly proportioned, sociable, chatty, funny, and just loves life. And I'm like: "do you know what, actually, we've done very well with you." So this time I just trust myself more and just sort of ignore the noise.'

Gratitude and Continued Vigilance

In a follow-up message on Thursday, Amy expressed gratitude for the supportive responses from her followers and emphasised how their messages reinforced the importance of seeking medical checks. Her experience serves as a powerful reminder about maternal healthcare vigilance during pregnancy.

The former Love Island star announced in November that she and Sam were expecting their second child, describing their conception journey as 'difficult' following their previous losses. Her openness about both the physical and emotional aspects of pregnancy continues to resonate with many expectant parents facing similar challenges.
