Dianne Buswell's Christmas reunion with parents in Australia

Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell has enjoyed an emotional family reunion in her native Australia, sharing a heartwarming video of the moment she and boyfriend Joe Sugg were greeted by her parents at the airport.

Festive Family Reunion Down Under

The 36-year-old dancer, who is expecting her first child with YouTuber Joe Sugg, flew to Australia immediately after the Strictly Come Dancing final on Saturday. The couple are spending the festive period with Dianne's family ahead of the birth of their baby, news of which was first announced in September.

In a sweet clip posted to Instagram on Monday, Dianne is seen running into her parents' arms for a tight embrace. The emotional moment continues as her parents admire her growing baby bump, with the on-screen caption reading 'Home for Christmas'. Joe is then shown beaming as he meets them.

Alongside the video, Dianne wrote: 'These two just make me so happy. Nothing beats being home for Christmas. And first time they met bump.'

Pregnancy Journey on Strictly

Buswell's pregnancy has been a historic one for the BBC dance show, as she became the first professional dancer in Strictly history to compete while pregnant. She continued to perform in group numbers with fellow professionals even after her celebrity partner, Stefan Dennis, was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Earlier in December, Dianne showcased her changing figure by sharing throwback photos from earlier in her pregnancy. Posing in a glamorous black catsuit from a pre-show photoshoot, she revealed the outfit had been a secret at the time. 'Back when we filmed this number, I hadn't told any of the pros that I was pregnant yet it was my little secret …,' she wrote, adding, 'he's certainly grown.'

She has since spoken about the increasing challenge of getting ready for rehearsals as her bump grows, humorously miming in a recent social media update that her secret was becoming harder to hide.

Long-Distance Baby News Reveal

The couple, who met after being paired on Strictly in 2018, previously shared the touching moment they told Dianne's Australian-based family about the pregnancy via FaceTime. In a clip posted online, her parents Mark and Rina, along with her brothers and their families, are seen reacting with shock and delight to the sonogram image.

Dianne captioned that video, explaining her father initially thought it was a prank: 'It's hard being away from my family especially times like these ♥️ but there reactions are a vision I'll have forever!'

Now reunited in person for Christmas, the family can celebrate this exciting new chapter together before Dianne and Joe return to the UK to welcome their first child in the new year.
