Former Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan has shared an emotional gender reveal for her second child, a moment of joy that comes just weeks after the tragic death of her teenage half-sister.
A Pink Confetti Celebration
The 33-year-old reality TV personality and her husband, Jacob Blyth, discovered they are expecting a baby girl in a heartfelt video posted to Instagram on Sunday. In the clip, Jacob held a confetti cannon while Holly cradled their young son, Alpha-Jax, beside a Christmas tree.
Both parents had expressed their hope for a daughter, with Holly admitting she had been getting 'girl vibes'. When asked what he wanted, their little boy also said he would like a sister. The family's wish was fulfilled as pink confetti exploded into the air, prompting screams of joy and tearful embraces.
Finding Light in Profound Grief
This happy family moment arrives amidst a period of immense sorrow for Holly and her relatives. In October, she announced the devastating news that her 19-year-old half-sister, Darci, had died from an accidental drug overdose.
Police later confirmed Darci had fallen 'seriously ill'. Holly said at the time her family had been 'traumatised in every sense of the word' as they struggled to come to terms with the sudden loss.
In a raw and vulnerable TikTok video shared just two days after Darci's funeral, a tearful Holly described the past month as 'the toughest four weeks of our entire life'. She explained feeling 'weighted by lead' and unsure how to process the tragedy, stating her world had 'stopped' while everything else kept moving.
Honouring a 'Forever Friend'
Holly has paid moving tribute to her sister, whom she called her 'forever friend' and her son's 'greatest gift'. Following the funeral, she shared an image of the order of service on Instagram, writing: 'I hope we did you proud today baby girl. We all miss and love you so much.'
Despite her ongoing grief, Holly's pregnancy, announced last month and due in May 2026, has provided the family with a beacon of hope and a reason to celebrate during their darkest time.
The couple's gender reveal video stands as a poignant testament to life's complex tapestry, where profound loss and joyful anticipation can painfully, yet hopefully, coexist.
