Australian actress and former soap star Isabel Lucas has become a mother for the first time at the age of 40, welcoming a baby boy with her partner, American film director Cyrus Sutton.
A Joyful Social Media Announcement
The couple shared their happy news with the world via a heartfelt social media post last week, following the birth of their son. Alongside a tender photograph, they penned a poetic caption expressing their gratitude and love.
"Angels everywhere… In the signs and synchronicities, intuitive whispers, in the circles of support, in the water and nature’s intelligence," they wrote. The message continued, "Through all the beauty and the pain, softening fear into love. Opening up new fields of possibilities, bridges of light."
They concluded by directly addressing their newborn: "Thank you to our bright little son, we love you all way." The pair have not yet publicly revealed the baby's chosen name.
From Soap Opera to Motherhood
Isabel Lucas is best known to UK audiences for her three-year role as Tasha Andrews on the long-running Australian soap 'Home and Away'. After leaving Summer Bay, her career expanded internationally with parts in major films like 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' and the action series 'MacGyver'.
Beyond acting, Lucas is an active campaigner, having worked with activist groups opposing whaling and dolphin culls in Japan. She also serves as a spokeswoman for the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The actress and director Cyrus Sutton, who specialises in surf and adventure films, confirmed their relationship earlier this year and announced the pregnancy in October 2024.
Fans and Friends Share Congratulations
The announcement was swiftly met with an outpouring of warm wishes from fans, friends, and former colleagues. Followers flooded the comments with messages of support, celebrating the new arrival.
One fan exclaimed, "We love you so much king and queen and little prince," while another simply stated, "Congratulations on the safe arrival of your beautiful Son!"
The birth marks a significant new chapter for Lucas, who has previously spoken openly about personal choices, including her decision not to receive the Covid-19 vaccination. In a 2023 interview with Stellar magazine, she defended her stance, emphasising bodily autonomy and freedom of choice, while acknowledging the potential professional consequences.
