Vogue Williams Reveals Two Miscarriages Amid Fourth Pregnancy Announcement
Vogue Williams Shares Miscarriage Heartbreak Before Fourth Child

Model and television presenter Vogue Williams has bravely shared the heartbreak of experiencing two miscarriages, revealing the emotional toll as she and her husband, Spencer Matthews, announce they are expecting their fourth child. The 40-year-old Irish star discussed these deeply personal losses on her YouTube channel, What Does She Even Do?, following the pregnancy news made public on Thursday.

Trigger Warning and Early Loss

Williams began her candid discussion with a trigger warning, stating, "Trigger warning, pregnancy loss, if anyone doesn’t want to watch, don’t." She recounted the first miscarriage, which occurred before the birth of her daughter Gigi in 2020. "So it happened to me before I had Gigi, not just me, it happened to Spencer as well obviously, and it was so early on, like so, so early on, we hadn’t had any scans, we hadn’t anything like that, and I must have been maybe a month, if even and it was just one of those things," she explained.

Describing it as "awful but everything happened quite quickly after it as well, so I never really kind of thought about it much," Williams added that while it was "really upsetting at the time," she became pregnant again shortly after. This early loss, though painful, was managed with relative swiftness, allowing her to focus on the subsequent pregnancy.

Advanced Second Miscarriage Last Year

The second pregnancy loss, however, was more advanced and occurred just last year. Williams revealed, "But it actually happened to me last year as well, and it was just, I was literally about to tell the kids… you could kind of start telling I was three months, I just didn’t go for an early scan. I just never even thought about it because I kind of didn’t want to make a fuss."

She described feeling "quite sick" but "not as sick as I would usually feel during pregnancy," before discovering through medical examination that "basically the embryo hadn’t grown." Williams continued, "Usually you just naturally get a miscarriage, but I didn’t, it just kept like it would have eventually happened, but it just didn’t at the time, and I was three months along, and (the doctor) was just like, I’m really sorry… it’s not really a pregnancy." This experience was particularly distressing due to its later stage and the unexpected nature of the diagnosis.

Current Pregnancy and Nervousness

These traumatic events have left Williams feeling "nervous" about her current pregnancy, though she expressed gratitude for common symptoms like nausea. "I’m grateful that I feel so sick all the time because then I know it’s there," she admitted. Reflecting on the decision to try again, Williams said, "I wasn’t sure if we wanted to try again because I just felt like I really don’t want to have to go through that again."

Despite her reservations, she is relieved they proceeded. "I’m glad we did, obviously, but now I just have this constant nervousness around hoping that everything is going to be all right," she shared, highlighting the ongoing emotional impact of her past losses.

Family Life and Public Announcement

Williams and Matthews, who married in June 2018 after meeting during filming for Channel 4's The Jump, are already parents to Gigi, Otto, and Theodore. The couple announced the latest pregnancy on Instagram, sharing a photo of themselves in beach attire, pushing their stomachs together to clearly display Williams' baby bump.

In addition to her family life, Williams has maintained a high-profile career, including a late entry into last year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and winning the celebrity version of Gladiators. Her openness about miscarriage adds to her public persona, shedding light on a topic often kept private.

By sharing her story, Vogue Williams not only personalises the struggle of pregnancy loss but also offers support to others facing similar challenges, all while celebrating the joy of her expanding family with Spencer Matthews.
