Former England footballer Karen Carney has been crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2025, lifting the Glitterball Trophy in an emotional final that also marked the departure of long-serving hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
The 38-year-old Lioness star beat fellow finalists Amber Davies and George Clarke to the top spot. Upon hearing the result, Carney was left speechless as she embraced her professional dance partner Carlos.
The night was particularly poignant as Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman presented their last live episode after announcing earlier this year that they would be leaving the show at the end of the series. They received a royal send-off from Queen Camilla, as judge Craig Revel Horwood read out a heartfelt message from the monarch, described as the ultimate Strictly fan.
Earlier in the evening, Amber Davies described her time on the show as 'the biggest joy of my life'. The final was filled with emotion, with hardly a dry eye in the house as the hosts bid farewell.
