Former HGTV Host Jenn Todryk Provides Major Health Update on Chronic Condition
Jenn Todryk, the former star of HGTV's popular renovation series No Demo Reno, has shared a significant health update with her followers three years after stepping away from the television show. The interior decorator, who is 37 years old, publicly discussed her ongoing battle with Hashimoto's disease, an autoimmune disorder that affects the thyroid gland.
Diagnosis and Initial Health Struggles
Todryk was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2014 before receiving a Hashimoto's disease diagnosis in 2017. She hosted No Demo Reno alongside her husband, Mike Todryk, from 2021 until 2023, when she decided to leave the program. The condition, which causes the immune system to attack the thyroid, typically results in symptoms including persistent fatigue, unexplained weight gain, and increased sensitivity to cold temperatures.
In a recent Instagram Story series posted last week, Todryk revealed that bloodwork from October 2025 showed her antibody count had reached a concerning level of 5,000. She explained that this measurement indicates the body's inflammation levels and serves as the primary marker for Hashimoto's disease, with a healthy reading ideally at zero.
"The number is supposed to be zero," Todryk stated in her video update. "So, if you know someone that says, 'I have Hashimoto's,' she literally could have an antibodies measure of 20 or 35. That could be considered Hashimoto's. I have 5,000. So, not to brag, but I'm really bad. I have a very chronic case of Hashimoto's."Remarkable Improvement in Antibody Levels
The television personality shared more positive news from a subsequent antibody test, which showed her count had dramatically decreased from 5,000 to just 257. Todryk attributed this substantial improvement to simplifying her supplement regimen to only two products: a hormone pill called Armour Thyroid and a hormone supplement named Glow by Beam, which she helped co-create.
She detailed her treatment approach in the video, explaining, "I think what happened is around Christmas time, I lowered my Armour Thyroid a little bit naturally by myself, because I felt like I was maybe swinging into hyperthyroidism, which happens with cellular Hashimoto's. I think that, along with taking Glow every day, significantly helped."
Todryk expressed astonishment at the positive results, noting that she had never before received encouraging news about her condition. "I still can't believe it. I've never had a good result. So, it's like, I don't know how to describe it. It's, like, something I dread doing. I'm constantly failing. I'm constantly getting bad news," she confessed.
Daily Impact and Personal Reflections
The former television host had previously opened up about her Hashimoto's diagnosis during a September episode of her podcast, You, Me & Mike, where she discussed how the disorder affects her daily life. She revealed that she frequently becomes ill and continuously battles inflammation, making the condition an integral part of her identity.
"It's a part of my identity. It's part of my every single day," Todryk told her husband and podcast co-host Mike Todryk during that conversation. "I think about me having Hashimoto's every single day. There's not a day that goes by where I don't remember that I have this thyroid autoimmune disorder."
Career Decisions and Family Priorities
A mother of three children, Todryk is also known for sharing home renovation content with her two million Instagram followers. She ultimately made the decision to leave No Demo Reno to prioritize spending more time with her family. The HGTV program featured Todryk working with clients to create beautiful renovations without requiring any demolition work.
Last month, she shared an Instagram post reflecting on her choice to depart the series after three seasons. Alongside a throwback photograph of herself on set with her daughter, Todryk wrote, "I do think I chose to walk away at the perfect time. I didn't want my kids to spend their childhood on a 'set,' I didn't want their home and safe space to feel like a set or be at home while I was away."
Jenn Todryk's health update provides insight into the challenges of managing chronic autoimmune conditions while balancing public life and family responsibilities. Her journey with Hashimoto's disease continues to resonate with many followers who face similar health struggles.
