Television personality Jenny McCarthy has revealed she endured what she describes as "six months of living hell" last year following a series of dental complications that led to a shocking diagnosis of severe mold toxicity.

The 53-year-old presenter and panelist on The Masked Singer detailed her harrowing experience on the podcast Heal Squad x Maria Menounos. McCarthy explained that an infected root canal and problematic dental implant resulted in nine separate surgeries on her mouth, followed by persistent infections that plagued her recovery.
"I started growing these growths on my eye," McCarthy confessed during the Sunday podcast appearance. "Yes, it looked like the nastiest whitehead, pus-filled eraser top... oozing infection."

McCarthy's "functional medicine doctor" investigated further and discovered the underlying cause: severe mold toxicity had triggered mycotoxin poisoning in her system. In a sneak peek of Tuesday's podcast part two obtained by Us Weekly, McCarthy elaborated on this discovery.
"Mold releases this toxin in the dust particles and what happens is most people...with good immune systems can handle it," The Masked Singer panelist explained. "People with weaker immune systems, people with leaky gut, candida, things I am already fighting [can't]."
Shocking Revelation About Potential Seizure Risk
McCarthy expressed shock when her doctor warned about the specific dangers of the mold affecting her. "[My doctor] goes, 'If this thing that you've got crosses the blood brain barrier, you're going to be in the hospital having seizures,'" the former Playboy Playmate recalled. "I'm like, 'Oh, my God!'"
The health crisis developed after McCarthy spent a year on antibiotics while consuming only soft foods. She eventually realized "the mycotoxins made me antibiotic resistant, so no wonder why infection, infection, infection. I was taking all these antibiotics that weren't working for me anymore."

The two-time Daytime Emmy nominee is now following a comprehensive mold protocol to address her symptoms. On February 18, McCarthy publicly thanked three dentists who "saved her" - Dr. Dean Lodding, Dr. Beth Ann Damas, and Dr. Ben Javid, who practice in Illinois and California.
McCarthy's health journey comes with notable contradictions in her approach to wellness. The Formless Beauty founder maintains extreme caution about what she puts into her body, yet has openly discussed receiving Botox, fillers, fat transfers, and breast implants.
