Katie Miller, wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, has attributed her pregnancy sickness to her husband's genes. Speaking on a podcast episode released Wednesday, she discussed her theory with Dr. Mehmet Oz, head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
During the hour-long conversation, which drew around 3,600 viewers, Dr. Oz asked Miller why her baby is not rejected by her body despite having half of Stephen Miller's genes. Miller responded: “This is my own personal theory. Like why have I been more nauseous this pregnancy? Why have I had more eczema this pregnancy? It’s because it’s more of my husband’s genetic makeup than mine in this baby.”
Dr. Oz pushed back, noting the child has half her genes, but Miller shook her head and said: “But I'm telling you this baby's going to turn out looking like him.” The couple, who met while working for the first Trump administration and married in 2020, are expecting their fourth child.
Katie Miller has previously made controversial health claims on her podcast, including that her unvaccinated child is healthier than her vaccinated one. Her husband, a key figure in the Trump administration, has faced backlash for extreme views, including leaked emails revealing promotion of white nationalist ideologies.
