Australian television personality Lynette Bolton has delivered an uplifting update on her ongoing battle with breast cancer, declaring she feels "as happy and healthy as can be." The Channel Seven presenter, who hosts the popular Travel Oz show, shocked her social media followers just days before Christmas by revealing her diagnosis and the start of chemotherapy treatment.
Staying Positive Through Treatment
Lynette Bolton, married to Sydney Swans AFL legend Jude Bolton, is now halfway through the initial phase of her treatment. The couple, who share two daughters, are currently awaiting results from genetic testing while keeping their children at the forefront of their thoughts. "That's a big thing," Lynette acknowledged during a recent appearance on Sunrise alongside her husband.
Continuing Work and Finding Community
Despite her diagnosis, the certified money coach has continued working throughout her treatment, recently traveling to New Zealand to film an episode of Travel Oz. More importantly, Lynette has discovered a powerful community of support since publicly sharing her diagnosis. "We're not unique; lots of people are going through it," she told Sunrise. "I'm really trying to stay positive and what I love, the people going through the same thing."
The television presenter has used her platform to send messages of support to others facing similar challenges. "I just want them to understand that this can be quite a lonely thing, even if you are surrounded by people," she explained. "So I really appreciate the people that we have connected with and just let them know that we're here for you as well."
Urging Proactive Health Checks
Lynette has become a vocal advocate for regular health checks after discovering a lump in her right breast during a shower on November 26. "Check your bits, check all your bits, because there's no differentiation," she urged. "There's nothing that says you will or you won't. I found my lump in the shower. It wasn't an official check, it was just something that I noticed."
Her message extends to everyone: "So please check your bits, boys, girls, parents, moles on their faces, let's just be really proactive about keeping healthy and safe."
Family Support and Determination
Jude Bolton, a dual premiership player with the Sydney Swans, praised his wife's remarkable determination during their Sunrise appearance. "You look at Lynette, and the way she just shows up and the stories that have come out, people saying I'm two weeks behind you, I don't know what's happened," he shared. "The world feels like it's been pulled from underneath me and she's been there for them as well."
He added that many people don't realize the gravity of what his wife is experiencing because of her positive attitude. "I think one day they will, they'll look back and go: 'Wow, mum was there the whole time and just did what she did.'"
Breaking Down the Challenge
Lynette's approach to her diagnosis has been remarkably pragmatic. "I'm not scared, I'm mostly p***ed off," she told fans initially, explaining that the experience has caused her to reassess what's truly important for her family in 2026 and beyond.
Jude echoed this perspective, stating: "I think you have to be positive. No one prepares for it, it's just our time at the moment. We're going to get through it; we're halfway through the first part. You've just got to try and break it down. So many people are going through a similar struggle and it's part of life, the highs and lows."
The couple's openness about their journey has resonated with many Australians facing similar health challenges, turning Lynette's personal battle into a platform for broader cancer awareness and support.
