Trainee Solicitor Jade Mandongwe Reveals Why She Had a Facelift at 28
Trainee solicitor Jade Mandongwe has publicly disclosed the genuine motivation behind her decision to undergo a facelift before reaching the age of 30. During an appearance on ITV's Good Morning Britain on Thursday, April 16, Jade discussed the procedure with presenters Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley, emphasising that it was not for anti-ageing purposes.
The Real Reason Behind the Surgery
Jade explained that her choice to have a mid-facelift at 28 was based on medical advice and personal experience. "I made an informed decision to go and have a facelift, under my surgeon's recommendation," she stated. "I'd gone through weight loss journeys, and my skin laxity had changed over time. To achieve the restored look that I had before, I needed a mid-facelift." She clarified that her youth made this reason the primary factor, not a desire to combat ageing.
Future Cosmetic Procedures and Safety Concerns
When questioned by Kate about whether this might lead to more cosmetic surgeries, Jade admitted she is open to future procedures but stressed the importance of safety. "The main thing is safety. Making sure who you're going to, your research is fundamental and making sure that you're also prepared for the long-term expectations," she said. "I definitely don't rule it out at all, and I would be open to possible procedures in the future." Richard probed further, asking if future work might target wrinkles or sagging, to which Jade responded that she looks forward to ageing as a blessing and any second procedure could involve her body, not necessarily her face.
Cost and Decision to Go Abroad
Jade highlighted that she opted to travel to Turkey for the surgery primarily due to cost considerations. "I chose to go to Turkey mainly based on costs, and it came to around £10,000, but that wasn't just for the facelift. That was for multiple surgeries," she explained. "I believe it would've cost in excess of maybe £40,000-£50,000 in the UK, which is quite a lot of money." She also noted her background in medical litigation, which informs her emphasis on research and understanding regulated versus unregulated services.
Background and Broader Context
During the conversation, Kate mentioned that Jade had previously received Botox in her 20s before the facelift. Jade reiterated her current satisfaction with her appearance and the importance of making informed decisions in cosmetic surgery. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am, providing a platform for such discussions on health and lifestyle topics.
