Jojo McGinniss, a 45-year-old woman from Adelaide, Australia, has boldly defended her decision to undergo a comprehensive facelift in Turkey, despite facing criticism from online trolls who claim the procedure has made her appear older. The mother-of-two embarked on this transformative journey after noticing significant changes to her face and neck as she entered her forties, investing more than £10,000 and travelling halfway across the globe to achieve her desired look.
A Five-Year Savings Plan for Surgical Transformation
McGinniss meticulously saved for half a decade to accumulate the five-figure sum required for her cosmetic overhaul. Her previous surgical experiences included a breast augmentation and an upper blepharoplasty to address hooded eyes, both performed in Australia. However, for this latest endeavour, she opted to travel to Istanbul, Turkey, where she underwent an extensive eight-hour procedure on February 17.
The surgery encompassed a deep plane facelift, neck lift, temple lift, 360 liposuction, and a facial fat transfer. The total cost amounted to £8,233 for the medical interventions, with an additional £2,231 spent on flights. The initial recovery phase necessitated daily lymphatic massages and the use of body drains in her stomach, back, and neck to manage swelling and prevent complications.
Now back in Australia, her recovery regimen includes twice-weekly lymphatic massages to avoid lump formation. Despite the arduous process, McGinniss reports that most swelling has subsided, and scars around her face have healed to near-invisibility. "I'm so happy, and I still look like me.
