Reality television personality Charlotte Crosby has shared devastating news concerning her mother's health, revealing a new cancer diagnosis just three years after a previous battle with the disease.
A Shocking New Diagnosis
Charlotte Crosby, who rose to fame on the show Geordie Shore, disclosed that her mother, Letitia, has been diagnosed with skin cancer. This distressing news comes three years after Letitia successfully fought breast cancer. The family is now anxiously awaiting the results of a biopsy to determine the next steps.
The former Geordie Shore star, now 35 and a mother of two, built a successful career following her 2011 television debut. However, her personal life has recently been overshadowed by her mother's health struggles. In a recent interview, Charlotte explained that the skin cancer was detected on her mother's face.
The Agonising Wait for Results
"She has got a little bit of skin cancer on her face, unfortunately," Charlotte stated. "She's getting it tested. It was only a recent thing that was just picked up on." Speaking to the Daily Mail, she added, "She's had her biopsy and we're just awaiting the results, so hopefully we're gonna be able to stay cancer-free again because it should just be a simple operation."
Letitia herself took to social media to inform her followers, explaining she received the shocking diagnosis just hours before she was due to go on holiday. "I had a bit of a shock," she wrote. "I went to the hospital about three hours before I was due to board a plane and found out I have skin cancer on my face... It is not great and certainly not what I wanted to hear."
She expressed her particular dismay, noting, "I am gutted I really am!" and revealing that she routinely uses factor 50 sunscreen.
A Business Venture Born from Love
In a separate and heartwarming revelation, Charlotte discussed the clothing brand Pepper Girls Club, which she co-owns with her mum. She explained that this venture provided a crucial positive focus for Letitia during her previous cancer treatment.
Charlotte initially invested £300,000 into the business to give her mother financial independence after she was made redundant, though the COVID-19 pandemic initially halted its progress. Their perseverance ultimately led to success.
"Throughout her breast cancer journey and her chemotherapy, she always came into work," Charlotte told The Sun emotionally. "She always wanted to be involved in every launch that we did, and she was so excited." She further emphasised her motivation: "I purely did it for my mum. My mum’s my best friend."
Charlotte noted that working for the brand, even doing tasks in the warehouse, gave her mum a renewed sense of purpose and a "spring in her step." As the family now endures the anxious wait for Letitia's biopsy results, they cling to the hope that a simple operation will once again make her cancer-free.
