Minoxidil Hair Treatment Recalled Over Safety Fears

A hair loss treatment has been recalled in the US due to a lack of child-resistant packaging, posing a risk of accidental ingestion by children. The Sefralls Minoxidil Hair Generation Serum, sold from June 2024 to June 2025, could cause dangerously low blood pressure, heart failure, or death if consumed.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Tuesday, affecting approximately 21,300 units distributed nationwide. Minoxidil, an over-the-counter medication, can relax blood vessels and lead to severe health issues, including erratic heartbeat and cardiac arrest, even in small amounts. Pets are also at risk if they ingest the product.

Other recalls this week include chocolate cookies containing undeclared wheat, which could affect allergy sufferers, and over 45,000 pairs of heated socks linked to burns and blisters. Instant coffee sold at Dollar General stores was found to contain glass fragments, posing a risk of injury to the throat and intestines.

Additionally, DermaRite Industries recalled antiseptic cleansers contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia bacteria, and a separate recall was issued due to rodent activity at a facility, raising concerns about bacterial contamination. All recalls remain in effect, with refunds available for affected products.
