Adele has opened up about her remarkable weight loss journey, revealing that she shed over seven stone without resorting to any fad diets. The 37-year-old singer, who rose to fame with her debut album '19' in 2008, credited a consistent exercise routine for her transformation.
In a 2021 interview with British Vogue, Adele explained that her motivation was never about losing weight, but rather managing her anxiety. 'Working out, I would just feel better. It was never about losing weight, it was always about becoming strong and giving myself as much time every day without my phone,' she said.
The 'Easy on Me' singer revealed that she works out two to three times a day, incorporating weightlifting in the morning, hiking or boxing in the afternoon, and cardio in the evening. She admitted to becoming 'quite addicted' to the routine, which helped her cope with the breakdown of her marriage.
Adele dismissed rumours of using any restrictive diets, stating: 'You know 100% of the stories written about me have been absolutely fake. If anything I eat more than I used to because I work out so hard.'
The Tottenham-born star first showcased her weight loss in a 2020 Instagram post, where she thanked fans for birthday wishes and praised essential workers during the pandemic. Her golden rule for success: a consistent exercise regimen without dieting.
