Supermodel Cindy Crawford marked her 56th birthday by sharing a throwback photo of herself as a child and offering heartfelt advice to her younger self. In a candid Instagram post on Saturday, the mother-of-two reflected on what she would tell 'little Cindy' ahead of her birthday.
'I would tell her to be kinder to herself, to treat herself the way she treats her friends,' Crawford wrote. 'I would tell her everyone feels nervous in new situations and sometimes you just have to fake it ‘til you make it.' She also encouraged her younger self to dance, sing, laugh, and be vulnerable, adding that 'life is a blessing.'
Earlier in the week, Crawford had shared a photo of herself in a black swimsuit, reading outdoors with her legs propped up on a table. She congratulated fellow model Claudia Schiffer on her new book Captivate in the caption. The ageless beauty completed her look with pointy heels and a white silk dressing gown.
Now in her 50s, Crawford says her focus has shifted to wellness rather than fitting into skinny jeans. She retired from modelling but continues to pose occasionally and runs her skincare line, Meaningful Beauty, launched in 2004. Her daughter Kaia Gerber has followed her into modelling.
