Fitness phenomenon Joe Wicks has offered a refreshingly honest glimpse into his family life, admitting that managing his four young children is a far greater challenge than running his multi-million pound wellness empire.
The Real Work: Juggling Family and Fitness
Speaking from the living room floor of his Surrey home, the 40-year-old Body Coach was briefly interrupted by his 18-month-old son, Dusty, during our interview. "I've got my little boy with me today. Sorry I'm late, I was giving him breakfast," he explained with a laugh.
Wicks, who shot to fame with his YouTube workouts in 2014 and became a national hero with his PE sessions during the pandemic, says his professional life is straightforward compared to parenting. "It takes so much patience. Raising kids is definitely harder," he confessed. "A day of work and filming workouts is easier in my head because I'm just focused on that."
He and his wife, former model Rosie Jones, whom he married in 2019, homeschool their children: Indie, seven, Marley, six, Leni, three, and Dusty. The couple often tag-team, splitting childcare duties to manage their busy schedules.
The Constant Battle Against Sugar and Ultra-Processed Foods
Despite being a champion of nutrition, Wicks revealed the uphill struggle of keeping his children's diets healthy in the modern world. "The marketing around all these products is always aimed at kids, which makes it harder," he stated.
He highlighted the pervasive nature of ultra-processed foods, a topic he explored in a recent documentary. "Your kids are given them at nursery, at school, on the way home... it's everywhere all the time," he said. His approach is educational rather than militant, encouraging his children to think about how food makes their bodies feel.
"I'm not militant. We went on holiday and had ice cream every day for three weeks," he admitted, noting how easily children develop a craving for sugar.
New Year, New Routines: On TV and At Home
Wicks is set for a busy start to 2026, hosting a star-studded New Year's Day special on ITV where he'll chat fitness and food with guests including Olly Murs and Tilly Ramsay. He will also appear on the Gladiators: Celebrity Special the same day.
His personal resolution is to be more present. "My resolution is to spend less time on my phone," he declared, aiming to carve out more device-free time in his day.
While he plans a New Year's Eve dinner party featuring his new barbecue, he won't be staying up late. "As soon as it's midnight, I say, 'Out you go, I'm off to bed,'" he joked, ready for his traditional live YouTube workout on the morning of January 1st.
When asked about potential future TV challenges like Strictly Come Dancing, Wicks was emphatic. "Put me in a little leotard and make me dance in front of millions? That would be my worst nightmare," he said, preferring to stick to the fitness realm where he feels most natural.
