A man who was fatally shot near a nightclub in south-east London has been named as Shaquille Graham, 30. The incident occurred at around 4.30am on Sunday in Catford Broadway, close to Lewisham Town Hall.
Police were called to the scene where they found Mr Graham with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Detective Superintendent Brian Hobbs said that good progress is being made in the investigation, with several leads being followed up.
Mr Graham's friend, Luke Wilson, described him as his best friend and said he was devastated by the loss. He noted that Mr Graham was not involved in gangs, contrary to some assumptions. The pair had attended a music event together before the shooting.
Police believe there may have been witnesses despite the early hour, as the shooting occurred on a busy road. They urge anyone with information to contact them on 101 quoting reference CAD1160/10Mar, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
